Boy’s Basketball takes on La Center

On Tuesday, the 9th, the Knights faced off against the La Center Wildcats. La Center is in our division so this was an important game. As the game began Ryan Tyler started off strong– forcing turnovers and displaying great passing skills. As the first quarter came to the end the Wildcats were leading by seven  points, with a score of 13-20 to the start of the second quarter.

Then, Tyler started to score a lot more points. The game became a back and forth battle but at halftime the Knights were leading by four. They maintained their lead for a while and by the time the third quarter came to an end the Knights had a comfortable twelve point lead. King’s Way started to coast and allowing La Center slowly mount a comeback. It ended up being a close game, but the Knights got the win!

Ryan Tyler had a solid fifteen points during the game and he played really well. He said he was very happy with the amount of points he scored and he thought he played a great game. Most of his points were layups or driving to the hoop and scoring and that is where he is most comfortable. He said that La Center was a good opponent to play against, “They put up a good fight against us, but we won!” He also admits that his hard work in practice has resulted in him having a good game and a good season.

The next game to look forward to is Wednesday, January 18, where the Knights face off against the Columbia Bruins. Following their game against Columbia, the Knights host the Seton Catholic Cougars on February 1st.
