King’s Way Heads to the Slopes
The King’s Way Ski Bus will be loaded up with 50 students and headed out to Mt Hood at 5 am every Saturday for the duration of January. For many students, like Jackson Lovato, it is a great experience, ”the bus ride is very fun and there are a lot of snacks.” Skiing is a lot of fun he explains, and he just loves that he gets to do it with friends. Overall his favorite thing is how nice the bus is with TV’s and even a bathroom on board. Jackson Lovato, who has been at King’s Way for 4 years, has attended every single year he can.
Typically participants are dropped off at the lifts at 8:30 AM and begin the journey home at 3PM and when all goes well it can be a very cool experience. Mr. Sparks says it is a good experience for beginners, because “You don’t have to deal with getting up to the mountain yourself, which as a beginner that can be hard to navigate, also there are many places up on the mountain that give out lessons which you can get connected to really easily. Lastly, many people on the Ski Bus already know how to ski/snowboard and who better to learn from than one of your friends.”
Overall, the Ski Bus is a cool experience for those who love skiing/snowboarding or want to learn how. It is something many students and teachers at King’s Way look forward to every year, as well as parents who want to go. If you are interested in learning more, or signing up for the Ski Bus you can do so online at King’s Way’s website.
