The Mission of the Gospel

The Mission of the Gospel

The mission of the Gospel is not about  displaying perfect morality; it’s about trying to incorporate love and compassion to the world we were called to protect. Colossians 3:12 says: “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” The mission of the Gospel is to redeem love and salvation through Jesus Christ.  I’m sure you have heard by now that we are meant to carry each other’s burdens. Remember how Jesus was able to heal the sin and minds of different people with his transforming, heavenly, and divine touch?

Donating to causes, supporting events for children in need, participating in fellowship activities are all ways as students we can incorporate the mission of the Gospel into our lives.  Proverbs 3:27 highlights God’s will for us to help others: “Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act.” You can drastically change the course and hope of somebody’s life with a single action: you can save a starving person with one meal, you can bring tears of joy to a child by donating a toy for a child, and you can support the cause to kill cancer. Let’s be there for the people who need us, after all, there was a time when we desperately needed to be cared for but nobody was there to be found.

Get involved, take action, and be willing to be sensitive. It’s the bravest thing a person can do in this world. If we are being honest with ourselves, it’s the bravest thing we can do. “When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality…” (Romans 12:13). You can change a life the way you want your life to be changed.
