SIXTH GRADE
Kenzi Cayton
Grade: Kenzi is in the 6th grade.
Sport: Kenzi plays soccer.
When did they start: Kenzi started playing soccer in Kindergarten.
Why she started playing: Kenzi’s brother had been playing soccer for a while, and she looked up to him. She looked up to him because he was 4 years older than her, so she wanted to try it out.
What position: Kenzi plays a “Midfielder” position in soccer.
Favorite part: Kenzi’s favorite part of soccer is how competitive it is.
Advice for people who want to play: Kenzi’s advice to anyone who would want to try out soccer is that you should always play your hardest at every game, no matter how hard the team is.
SEVENTH GRADE
Alana Poe
Grade: Alana is in the 7th grade.
Sport: Alana plays volleyball.
When did they start: Alana started playing volleyball in the fall of 2023.
Why she started playing: Alana wanted to play volleyball because when she was at camp, a bunch of people were playing, so she joined in. She thought it was super fun, so she started playing with her friends. She ended up joining the school volleyball team and joined a club volleyball team.
What position: Alana’s position is an “Outside Hitter”.
Favorite part: Alana’s favorite part of volleyball is how there are so many different positions you can play, and how fun and competitive it is.
Advice for people who want to play: Alana’s advice to anyone who wants to play volleyball is to practice a lot, and to not get mad at yourself if you make a mistake. Just shake it off, try again, and be ready for the next play.
EIGHTH GRADE
Gabriel Magda
Grade: Gabe is currently in 8th grade.
Sport: Gabe loves playing football.
When did they start: Gabe started playing football 2 years ago.
Why he started playing: Gabe had always loved to be as aggressive as he can, and he loved to be outside with his friends.
What position: Gabe plays anything in the offensive and defensive lineup.
Advice for people who want to play: Gabe’s advice for anyone who wants to play football is to start going to the gym, and to not slack off or skip practice.
