Grand Canyon University

Grand Canyon University (GCU) is a Christian college based in Phoenix, Arizona with approximately 25,000 students. King’s Way Career and College Counselor, Anne Hall, has visited the university many times and says, “This campus is like no other.” When Mrs. Hall visited the campus  their chapel, hosted in the basketball stadium, it was packed full. While attendance at chapel is voluntary, over 7,000 students made the decision to go. This gave the college reps hope for Christian college students.  The environment there is like a family.

Along with the Christian aspect of the college, GCU also is distinguished with the number one nursing program in Arizona, several Division 1 sports programs, and a dry campus–meaning no alcohol or drugs. Grand Canyon is in the top 5 for dorms in the nation, and are also in the top 5 for restaurants on campus.

If you are interested in checking out the campus, then you can take advantage of the Discover GCU program which will pay for a free tour for all Kings Way Seniors. This program includes airfare, transportation and a hotel. Another perk Kings Way students can earn is $4,000 off their tuition per year. GCU also offers scholarships of $250 per credit hour to students who have a parent in the military. The GPA requirement is 2.5 GPA or higher. GCU offers many majors of study, including business management, government, engineering, language, medical studies, nursing and health care, performing and digital arts, theology and ministry, human services, social work, criminal justice, and elementary education and teaching.

“If you want a faith based school that is larger than a typical private Christian college,  then this is the school for you,” Anne Hall states.
