SIXTH GRADE

Did you know that Edward Vergulyanets has an amazing hobby?

He plays soccer. Edward has been playing soccer for 7 years now. The reason he started is because of his older brother who inspired him. When his older brother would practice, Edward would join, and that’s how it all started. He realized he loved soccer, so he joined a team for the first time when he was 5 years old. I asked why he likes soccer, and he said, “I like the thrill of scoring and the fun of playing on a team.” This picture is when Edward was 6 years old. He was enjoying his time with his buddies. Edward is on the far right in the picture. Edward Vergulyanets is a committed soccer player. Everyday he gets better and hopes to achieve all his goals.

SEVENTH GRADE

Mikkayla Chernickenko has done dance as a sport for 5 years! She likes to dance, because it’s a way she can express herself. All of the movements in dance fills her with joy. Mikkayla was inspired by a book about a dancer named Misty Copeland. In this book, Misty Copeland inspired Mikkayla to get better at dance because Misty Copeland talked about perseverance and never giving up. Mikkayla loves to dance to worship songs and praise God for his glory. Pulse is the dance studio that she practices at every week for 1 hour and 45 minutes. On top of that, she works on her skills at home for about 30 minutes. Overall, Mikkayla Chernickenko is a very good dancer, and strives to become better and better with everyday to come.

EIGHTH GRADE

Do you like to play with animals, and care for them?

Well, Bennett Christensen loves his farm with all of his pets. His family owns 70 chickens, 1 rooster, 13 ducks, 8 goats, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. Bennett did not name all the chickens, but the roosters name is Frappuccino. His 2 latest animals are cute, little piglets. Bennett wakes up before school starts very early to feed all the animals, get eggs, and walks the piglets. He thinks his cats, Chunky and Blacky, are very calming and helpful during stressful times. He loves to give the goats and dogs pats on the head and belly rubs. Bennett Christensen snuggles with his cats, and he gives them treats fairly often. Bennett Christensen loves all his animals.
